Behaving in the Dark is a melodic celebration of the deep-sea squid titled ‘Octopoteuthis deletron’. With discoveries of the deep-sea biome only recently being discovered by scientists, it reveals that this squid has many incredible behavioural components. Posture, locomotor maneavuers, lightness and darkness allow it to communicate for social, reproductive, predator, and habitat reasons. This piece moves through variations of a melody to praise the behavioural diversity and exciting movements of this weird and wonderful creature.
